Today, Sigma Aldrich confirmed that the newly acquired BioReliance business will become part of SAFC, the custom manufacturing and services business unit of Sigma-Aldrich. SAFC President, Gilles Cottier noted that the acquisition would serve to increase the SAFC value proposition and positively leverage the company’s industrial media presence and biological testing capabilities for end user services and solutions.

Current and prospective members will be onsite in New Orleans and will work with the non-profit organization to help build a home for a family in need, as well as to promote the motto of “doing well while doing good”.

Monday, January 9th, 2012Today, Sigma-Aldrich Corporation announced plans to acquire BioReliance Holdings for $350M. The acquisition is part of a strategic plan to extend the company’s biopharmaceutical testing and services and increase their value proposition to customers. The extension of these services will allow Sigma-Aldrich to more effectively provide enhanced solutions for its biopharmaceutical customers and also allows customers to work with a single point provider that is more vertically integrated throughout the drug discovery process.
